Between October 9 and 11, 2025, Buenos Aires hosted the Grand Magistral Council (GMC) of the Ordo Supremus Militaris Templi Hierosolymitani (OSMTH), one of the Order's most important international gatherings.
It was the first time in history that this event was held in our country, bringing together representatives from 16 of the 24 Grand Priories around the world, under the hospitality of the Grand Priory of the Argentine Republic, which also included the participation of a delegation from the Commandery of Uruguay, a jurisdiction dependent on this Grand Priory.
Development of the sessions
The GMC conference opened with a Templar prayer and welcoming remarks from Grand Commander, Chevalier George MacLean, and Grand Master, Chevalier David Appleby, along with Argentine Grand Prior Luis Lübeck as host.
During the plenary sessions, reports and resolutions were presented on the Order's international operations, including topics such as:
International legal registration of the OSMTH in Geneva (CH-660.1.972.999-4).
Ratification of the elections of the new Grand Commander, Deputy Grand Commander, and Chancellor General for the period 2025-2028.
Report of the Grand Master.
Report on international humanitarian and charitable donation programs.
Presentation of the annual reports of the Grand Priories, highlighting the commitment and growth of each jurisdiction.
Investiture Ceremony
As part of the official GMC program, the International Investiture Ceremony was held, presided over by H.E. Luis Lübeck, Grand Prior of the Argentine Republic, in the local section.
During this solemn ceremony, the following took place:
The presentation of the OSMTH Medal of Valor, which is awarded to individuals for extraordinary acts of heroism and bravery, in circumstances of personal danger and voluntary risk to their own lives, and involving such remarkable sacrifice that it clearly distinguishes said individuals above their peers.
The investiture of new Knights and Dames Templar, who swore to serve under the principles and values of the Order.
Promotions in rank, including promotion to the rank of Knight Commander.
The presentation of distinctions from the Grand Priory of Argentina to members who stand out for their merit, commitment, and service to the community.
Solidarity action: visit to Hogar Nuestro Sol
Within the framework of the international meeting, Dames of the Order and members of various foreign Priories visited Hogar Nuestro Sol, an institution dedicated to the accompaniment and support of young women protected by the State.
During the visit, donations collected by the participating Knights and Dames were presented, and the visitors had the opportunity to converse with the girls at the home, sharing a message of hope, faith, and Templar brotherhood.

Spirit of service and brotherhood
Many of the international Knights and Dames who arrived in Buenos Aires for the GMC had previously participated the previous weekend as volunteers at the Templar Support Post during the Luján Pilgrimage.

There, they collaborated with local members of the Grand Priory, providing water, food, and spiritual guidance to the pilgrims, reflecting the Templar spirit of service, humility, and universal brotherhood.
A historic meeting
The GMC Buenos Aires 2025 consolidated Argentina's role within the international Templar scene, combining institutional solemnity, spiritual reflection, and a commitment to solidarity.
The event concluded with special recognition from the Magisterium to our Grand Priory for the organization and hospitality provided to all the delegations, in an event that will remain in memory as a milestone for the Order in Latin America.
